About

Hannah Craft is a craft artist and educator based in upstate New York. Hannah earned a bachelor's degree from Skidmore College where they studied metalsmithing and jewelry design under David Peterson. After graduating, Hannah worked as a fabricator and finisher in a fine art foundry and taught jewelry and metals workshops. Hannah earned an MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology where they are currently an Adjunct Professor.

Artist Statement

I create narrative work that engages the relationship between human achievement and the natural world, spotlighting deaths that are often intentionally ignored. I work with craft mediums because they are labor-intensive and time-consuming, embodying intentionality and control in an uncertain and unpredictable world. Meticulously crafted in abiding mediums, my work serves as a memorial to lives that were lost, and whose loss was never felt.
